DALE KIRSCHENMAN | |
Dale Kirschenman began painting his first landscapes in the nineteen eighties. He attended The Alberta College of Art and Design and completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting "With Distinction" in 1998. Kirschenman's paintings illustrate his connection to the vastness of the Canadian landscape. Growing up in the sand hill country near Medicine Hat, Alberta, he developed an appreciation of nature early in life and pursued his passion for landscape imagery, first through photography and more recently, through his paintings. He is an avid hiker and cross-country skier. His early impressionist style has gradually evolved over the years. Kirschenman's most recent works employ the language of abstraction to describe the elemental effects of land, weather and light.
Kirschenman has lived in Calgary since 1979. He maintains a studio in the city but also enjoys painting outdoors in the surrounding landscape whenever possible. Kirschenman's paintings are present in numerous private and corporate collections in Canada.
