The photography of Greg Gerla is abstract and minimal, yet in its focal juxtaposition evokes the emotional and natural. Gerla's attention to style and composition is evident in these colour saturated photographs. Referencing the environment Gerla uses depth and perception to investigate the visual relationships forged between natural and man-made spaces. A graduate of the Alberta College of Art and Design, Greg has had several exhibitions of his fine art work locally, and abroad. Greg served on the National Board of CAPIC (Canadian Association of Photographers and Illustrators in Communications) from 2002-2005. He served as president of the Prairie Chapter of CAPIC from 2004-2007, and remains on the Board today.
Gerla currently maintains his studio practice in Calgary, AB, and is an instructor with the Design/Photography Department of the Alberta College of Art and Design.
