Stephanja Dumanowski combines her experienced eye and facility as a painter with cutting edge advances in photographic imaging. The result is six intoxicating landscape artworks, representing lush vegetation and tranquil waters. Her skilled use of color is intrepid, yet remains sophisticated and elegant.
Within these large-scale digitally based photographs, naturally occurring light and reflections are layered and digitized, creating images anchored in nature but translated by a computerized world.
In terms of collectability, Stefanja’s photographic prints are made in original editions of only twelve.
After finishing her formal art training in 1972 at the Alberta Collage of Art, Dumanowski decided to hone her skills as painter here in Calgary. She is an accomplished painter whose work can be found in many prestigious corporate and private collections, such as Petro Canada, CIBC, Trimac and the Alberta Art Foundation.
